As humans we do not necessarily understand how the environment works. What we think of as nature is nature as we created it. My pieces in Moss Project show the abstraction of reality that is also present in real life through mark making and stylistic placement of elements. My time in Art and Ecology, and Studio Ghibli’s, “Only Yesterday” inspired me. The film explores the impact that agriculture has had on the countryside of Japan and how what is perceived as natural is the artificial work of man. In the film there is an emphasis on humanization and forgiveness. The humanizing of people is the biggest strength that we have as a people. In Moss Project I used the same themes of forgiveness and honesty.
THE ZINE WILL COME OUT SOON.
